Swedish Christmas Gnome with Pumpkin Spice Felt Hat

A little whimsical and rotund Swedish Tomte  handmade by me in my studio. This Swedish Christmas Gnome is sculpted from polymer clay with my Klimt Cane on the front of his coat. His very large nose has been dusted with pan pastel to give that rosy glow. His hair is made from Wool Roving. His hat is made from 100% orange felt. He is sporting a red brick coloured coat with bronze buttons.  He would love to become a part of your Swedish Christmas decorations.

A tomte is a humanoid mythical creature of Scandinavian folklore. The tomte or nisse was believed to take care of a farmer's home and children and protect them from misfortune, in particular at night, when the housefolk were asleep. The Swedish name tomte is derived from a place of residence: the house lot or tomt. The tomte/nisse was often imagined as a small, elderly man (size varies from a few inches to about half the height of an adult man), often with a full beard; dressed in the everyday clothing of a farmer.

Approx. Size: 6" in height

He is packed in a small box and shipped via Canada Post. He comes complete with a card explaining the tomte mythology.
